Former Det 3, AFFTC, commander Charles "Pete" Winters became the founding President of JT3 LLC in 2001, leading a team of companies in "integrating multiple range operations and maintenance contracts in support of government testing.” Many high-ranking company officials had backgrounds that included administrative positions at Groom Lake. When I went to work for JT3 at Edwards in 2017, I laughed when they gave me my company ID badge. Like every company ID I'd ever had, there was an address on the back in case you lost your badge. "If found, please drop in any mail box..." Because JT3 was a joint venture involving EG&G and was headquartered in Las Vegas, I had expected the return address to be located on Grier Drive. Instead, it was a post office box number I recognized from many years before, when Glenn Campbell was playing "Dreamland Interceptor." If you know what I'm talking about, you may find it as funny as I did and hopefully appreciate the irony. JT3 was forced to reorganize as JT4 in 2018 in order to win the J-Tech II contract. It was a decent company to work for and, yes, they provide personnel and support to various and sundry locations on the Nevada Test & Training Range.
