It might be worth poking around Rob Roy and the Switch origin story. Rumor has it back in the day that Switch got its start by pairing Enron's dedicated fiber networks with some southern Nevada military data connectivity and creating their SuperNAP. The Switch SuperNAP facility actually has a a joke origin story on the wall that mentions aliens from Area 51 powering their networks, but they also host some military servers that are in completely enclosed cages with 24-hr armed military guards in addition to the SWAT-level private security that Switch offers. Let's just say I wouldn't be at all surprised if EG&G or JT4 have server racks in there with a dedicated fiber line out to the base.
