24 hours guards around enclosed cages? That's some serious security. My company keeps some infrastructure in a local colo in a fenced cage with other clients having their own fenced cages - but none of the clients have armed guards! Guards would be one thing but in my own case getting into the facility would be no small feat itself: badges, fingerprint biometric readers, man traps - that kind of thing. I'm guessing military servers require periodic maintenance just like ours do. Interesting about the Supernap joke origin story - that would be interesting.
