Chris Gibson waited until after the disbanding of the Royal Observer Corps in 1991 to publicize of the August 1989 North Sea sighting, so it's unclear if any of the F-111 and KC-135 crews flying in AARA 6A in August 1989 flatly rejected Bill Sweetman's view that the airplane seen by Chris Gibson and Graeme Winton was a hypersonic aircraft. Since the 306th Strategic Wing not only operated KC-135s but also was stationed at RAF Mildenhall from 1978 to 1992, maybe the KC-135 crew which refueled the aircraft seen by Gibson not only served the 306th Strategic Wing but also have kept records of the aircraft which they refueled in AARA 6A in late August 1989.
