Correct. Of course, afterburner presence or use doesn't mean the aircraft will break a sound barrier, that's just a way to get to supersonic speeds by some aircraft types. Gauging by a fact that there is, literally, no buildings of any sort at the place we saw it, I guess, that was not an issues for a pilot to break a sound barrier but rather that particular flight itself was not meant to pass through supersonic speeds. Of course, I may be totally wrong on that but I heard sonic booms around that spot at least a few times (too bad I have never record one on camera though). My information about lack of sonic boom I provided to fullfill my earlier postings about the sighting, for anyone interested to keep a track of it or make notes. Just an additional info:)
