i seemed to notice an interesting tell though...

he kept telling Burchett he'd give them names, locations etc...once the committee members themselves were able to get the authorization to be read in as well.

Also, (and I am just playing devil's advocate here...) to prove he's lying, they'd essentially have to expose sensitive info and places...e.g., if he says, "there's a craft being held inside hangar# at location X," they'd have to open up hangar# at location X and prove it is NOT there. Any actions taken on him would have bad optics, no matter what. they've realyl played this game well, and put the fedguv is in a bit of a catch22...

...then again, not that they've really cared about coming across as despots recently
