Mark, the closest I ever came to experiencing the performance of an F-15, and it wasn't really all that close, was on a Lear 25 out of Houston Hobby. We were taking off on the pickup leg of a MEDEVAC mission when, almost instantly after rotation, the nose seemed to go straight up and I went straight back in my seat! Absolutely no blood was reaching my fingers until we leveled out! I've seen a lot of F-14s, 15s, 16s, and 18s do this, though the fighters here (mostly Hawaii ANG F-15s and Hickam AFB F-16s) usually climb at about the same angle as the airliners do. Hickam is getting Raptors, but I won't be here to see it - Damn! It would have been fun sitting in the parking lot of Hickam Harbor and watching them spool-up, then taxi onto the reef runway (8R). What a sight that will be!
