Thank you for your reply NotTelling. A few points: Groom is much more expensive than TTR of course. But if the F117’s are operating as agressors, Edwards would be much cheaper than TTR. Point is, since they’re at a grey base, they’re doing something shadowy. Whether it’s new tech or fronting for a new unit? We don’ t know. Considering my point about it being in a museum: of course there’s a lot of tech below the hood. But even on a regular USAF base it must be difficult to get hold classified technology if you are an adversary. But then we must also keep in mind that the F117 is basically a 40 year old platform. Of course there have been upgrades, but it can’t be cutting edge anymore. About Tonopah: the works I’ve seen at TTR the last 15 years seems be mostly UAV related based on the taxiways, runways and antenna’s that can be seen on pictures.
