I think the problem here is that "simple consumer drones" nowadays are not so simple anymore and can be very harmful. They're very small, fast, they make little noise, can have 4K/IR/Thermal cameras and can (potentially) carry a few KGs of payload. These are "off the shelf" drones which anyone can order online.
We have many (and I mean MANY) incursions every week, ranging from drones entering the "DJI warning zones" to full blown hovering on a runway's final approach. And we don't have anything that comes even close to a Skunk Works or a Northrop facility, so I can't imagine how bad it must be over there. It's a big problem everywhere
