Before anyone asks: I have not been in that area in years and my drone is safely with the FBI. But seriously, I find it rather concerning that Plant 42 security supposedly is unable to distinguish simple consumer drones from potentially harmful spy drones, let alone track them. The article mentions bright lights. Consumer drones usually do not have lights bright enough to be mistaken for a shooting star from a distance. But then, between inherently unreliable eye-witness accounts and the lack of depth or detail in the story there are very few facts to be analyzed. Perhaps the real intent of the story becomes clear towards the end of the article where the author mentions a "growing demand for new counter-drone defenses" at military bases. Is the Air Force again lobbying for increased drone no-fly zones?
