Air ambulance cutting across western ranges

An air ambulance, Air Methods helicopter, N238AM, just cut across the western ranges at 8300-8500’. Left Pahrump and landed Tonopah airport.

Assume ranges are clear or do the crews have a previous security clearance done in case they need to fly in/through?
