Follow on to my previous response/post to the part about attempts to make stealth planes invisible to camera. This is what I was referring to:

In a quantum leap in military strategy staff at the Ministry of Defence Research Agency... have bent one of the fundamental laws of physics to produce a material which can give off 'negative luminescence' at room temperature(Gilligan).

The material is based on indium antimonide semi-conductors and could be used to make tanks, guns, personnel carriers and indeed soldiers invisible to thermal imagers, giving troops a decisive advantage. The new infra-red chameleon could be used to reduce even further the IR emissions of stealth aircraft. The material in question is quite remarkable - it absorbs light but doesn't emit it."
