According to The War Zone 4 F117’s were deployed to the Middle East a few years ago. I’m very skeptical this actually happened. 4 F117’s seems like a lot to deploy overseas and keep it a secret, although I guess it could be done.

Also, there’s nothing the F117 can do that the F22 can’t. I do think it’s plausible though the USAF was reluctant to use the F22 over contested area’s in Syria for fear of the F22 falling into the hands of the Russians, but I may very well be wrong.

With nothing more than a claim by a single, although reputable, website there’s nothing we can say for sure.
