Hydrogen is very attractive for the QUARTZ mission and performance parameters.

The biggest drawback is the infrastructure required. The "1983" study covered that and what locations could have the required infrastructure installed to support the vehicle, how that would affect operations, etc.

This study actually started in 1980 and ran until 1987 through several phases/stages, with reports being produced in 1983, 1985, and I think 1987. One of the individuals driving the study retired in 1985 or 1986,.

There were a number of different missions considered for both the low speed and high speed vehicles.
