As I wrote earlier, since the article "Focus Aircraft: HALE/MALE Unmanned Air Vehicles Part 1: History of the Endurance UAV" only explicitly states that the 267 foot span Lockheed design envisaged in 1983 did not have the stealth of the Quartz UAV. Therefore, I'm wondering how this proposal influenced the design of the High Altitude Atmospheric Research Platform (HAARP) because quellish mentioned that the 1983 Lockheed UAV with a 267 foot wingspan was fueled by hydrogen. Of course, hydrogen is a dangerous fuel to handle with, and Quartz would never have used hydrogen as a fuel during long-endurance missions.
