The threat environment is constantly changing, and with real world concerns from rising powers like China, no chances are being taken. Espionage is at its highest since the Cold War. When the Intelligence Community makes a “threat assessment,” recommendations are taken seriously. I am positive a multitude of counterintelligence kits are deployed throughout the vicinity, to counter any intelligence gathering efforts. NTTR also falls under Section 721 CFIUS, which prohibits foreign Governments and or foreign Nationals from purchasing land within 100 miles of the site (if reasonable suspicion exists that the real estate acquisition is beneficial for an adversarial power.) Not all deterrents are visible to the naked eye…
Lest anyone forget, the Range is permanently set at the TS//SCI level, which is not typical among most installations.
