Consider that the true state of the art used to be at least 20 years ahead of what the public was aware of. A good example of this is looking at the construction of the Saturn 5B guidance computers and their surface-mount construction of the circuit boards. That technology started appearing in consumer electronics in the early 90s, so the technology gap was approaching 30 years on some of that stuff. I strongly suspect that gap is double that now. I've been convinced that things like the 'tic tac' UAPs are us. Something like ion propulsion, or better, might well explain it.
