I think there are more than two of whatever these were, and they were likely acquired before January.

I searched "US NAVY- NAVAIR" in the FAA database and it actually returned 5 aircraft with sequential N-numbers from. N611BQ to N615BQ.

Of note, all of them were reserved exactly one year ago today, on 3/24/22, and are set to purge one month from today on 4/24/23.

So, whatever they were doing today seems to have been planned at least a year ago to happen on this specific day.

But, isn't it odd to have N-numbers at all if they're military test vehicles? I thought only contractor-owned assets flew with N-registrations. Am I wrong?
