You can't make that stuff up. That is a good one regarding clearances. I had some similar stories before I retired, and even a few while consulting since retirement. I always query them as to their procedures in-house for obtaining my information from the program's security manager and they usually don't respond. If they want you for a job for the clearance and the background you bring...they will know how to get what they need!! Otherwise, they will understand your answer, thank you for your service and carry-on with what they need you to do for them.
