I also find it interesting to think about.

But what i sometimes find even more mind boggling is all the black and covert work that was done in completely mundane civilian office complexes and warehouses in the middle of the city.

All those black plane prototypes and mockups that were built in the middle of the city, then broken down, and trucked off in the middle of the night...
