To me, despite his pedigree, Gibson probaly saw something very ordinary. I mean we all make mistakes, so with no more evidence than a testimony, I personally don't give much credibility to a testimony. The hypothesis he just saw an F-111 or another normal aircraft makes way more sense, esepecially when reading his testimony he mentions he was on a rush and didn't see it for long. Anyways that's just my own take on this particular sighting.
Especially when he mentions there was other F-111 around on the tanker, this wouldn't make any sense at all if there was a black aicraft.
It's always better to consider the most probable hypothesis than trying to speculate on something we can't even make sure. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidences".
