Yes, I know who Barnes is, he's friends with a few of my former Pioneers of Stealth colleagues. They speak very highly of him. I've also read a couple of his book. Yes, there were naval aviators who made visual contact with the objects. Keep in mind, however, the objects reported fall under three different categories. Colloquially they are identified as "tic tac," "gimbal," and "go fast."
