An amazing story. In the end, though, I have to side with the Navy critics: way too ambitious a strategy: would have been better to attempt to salvage parts of the sub on the sea-floor: much better chance of actually getting the coding materials. In the end, it looks like all we got out of the exercise was a bunch of useless radioactive metal. Still, an incredible engineering feat, despite the failure of the overall mission....
