What really is amazing is that nobody has discussed the possibility (probability) that the helo was purposefully hard-landed (similar to the HH3 used in the raid on the North Vietnamese Son Tay Prison camp) to achieve complete surprise. How else could an assault force get inside a walled compound before the bad guys could escape, mount a defense or call for help?
