I'll echo Peter's sentiments here. There's no mystery other than the general mystery of why random crap happens when you least expect it. As someone who knows some of the details of the event, I'll tell you that the piece Norio quoted is overexaggerated and written in a sensationalistic manner. The author is pushing to make it a mystery by deliberately choosing to portray things in a dark light. And some of the stuff he writes is just plain wrong. While I think Mike would have been highly entertained at the hints of "conspiracy" involving the incident, as a friend I find it difficult to be amused.
