Lumpy is right. There is no real mystery. I grew up in the Hollywood Hills near Laurel Canyon. I spent many hours hiking the canyons below Mulholland Drive. They were full of wrecked cars, some dating back to the 1930s. I hear there were several other wrecks in the same canyon where they found Mike. The moment I heard Mike took a scenic drive "along Mulholland" at night and that he hadn't been heard from in over a week, I knew how the story would play out. We may never know exactly what happened. Maybe he was tired or had too much to drink. Maybe another car swerved into his lane. Perhaps a deer or coyote darted across the road. I will really miss him. Mike was a good friend. Let's not turn his death into some kind of hokey conspiracy theory.
