I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I think it's a shotgun shell's plastic wadding. Of course, without actually examining the part for things like impact marks from lead shot and powder burns I can't really say for sure. Pete Merlin and I have found the final resting places of a few SR-71's and some of the crash sites were loaded with the strangest airframe/engine debris we've ever seen
