Two small dishes were added to the Rachel phone building yesterday. One appears to be pointed in the direction of Cedar Peak and the other towards the antenna site near the gravel pit. I am not currently in Rachel but will verify the direction as soon as I get back. A similar dish was added a while ago, pointed at Bald Mountain. I assume it to be a data link to the Rebel site on Baldy that is primarily used by LCSO. That site is the first and only private radio system on Baldy. The new dishes could indicated the addition of a similar site at Cedar Peak or it could be a relay from Cedar Peak to the antenna site with a data connection to the Rachel fiber optics line. I find the latter hard to believe because it would create a potential vulnerability of secure data. Also, the antenna site has been directly linked to Cedar Peak with its own panel for years.
