Hi-Res TTR Panorama 08/27/2024
The high resolution panorama of the Tonopah Test Range complex below was taken in the early morning hours of August 27, 2024 by our long-time member Michał "n01_b4_flash" Rokita. It was taken from a view spot north-east of the base, from a slightly different angle than the popular Brainwash Butte vie spot. A big Thank You to Michał for sharing the panorama with us! Hi-res panorama of TTR from the north-east (zoomed image is very large and may take a while to load)
Notable things from left to right include:
- Two new, very tall water towers at the south end of the base, near the Janet terminal (37° 47.251'N 116° 45.813'W). The height of the towers indicates the need for high water pressure or for a high flow rate.
- Activity at the gavel pit SW of the base with several belly dump trucks going to and from the pit (37° 46.840'N 116° 46.856'W). As was the case a couple of years ago, we are seeing convoys of belly dumps going past Rachel every day. They are hauling material from a gravel pit near Glendale to TTR. A lot of material!!
- Two open hangar doors near the north end with two F-117's visible inside the hangars (37° 48.563'N 116° 46.771'W). Michał later saw the F-117 taxi out of the hangars and take off.
