I wasn't able to read the article since I don't have a subscription. My two cents and it's not worth two cents but I have been digging around Groom Lake Road and Rachel for many many years. In my opinion the pictures from the flights with Gabe (I believe that is his name) was too much for the base to let slide. Those flights were done with the sole purpose of taking pictures of the base. I don't know what ever happened to the pilot but I would imagine he lost his pilots license??? If you push things too far, this outcome isn't a shock. No way is Joerg a bad guy, traitor, or any type of spy. Just went too far with those pictures and the government wanted to make a very public example of their power and send a message to back off of that type of activity. Just my opinion.
