SCAN 05 and 06 at Nellis

I took these photos at Nellis yesterday. SCAN 05 and SCAN 06 taking off for a mission in the NTTR at the end of the daytime Red Flag sortie. The two converted Bombardier Challenger 600 are known Northrop avionics and EW test beds currently flying classified missions in the NTTR. The added nose very much looks like an F-35 and we saw several Nellis F-35 launch soon afterwards. Quite likely they are testing a new radar and sensor upgrade for the F-35.
