They are prosaic but no less top secret objects. The only difference is they are fitted with light refracting skins and very sophisticated ECM.

They are mainly of British or NATO design. They breach the airspace of other countries and have various utility. One such utility could involve dream manipulation of sleeping populations.

There could be a more exotic type of craft which digest plasma in some way which is a closely guarded secret.
