I have recently updated our Tikaboo Peak map (see attached link). On a recent visit I found the road over Medsger Pass in much better condition than the road via the intersection to Desert Lake. The latter is passable but washed out and sandy in places. The road over Medsger Pass is now an easy 2WD drive. Youtube video of the access road will follow shortly. Access up to the Alamo shortcut intersection is currently possible with most cars. From there it gets a bit rough and you may need high clearance. At 37° 19.875'N 115° 19.161'W the road is washed out. High clearance short vehicles like a Jeep Wrangler may be able to cross, but if you try it you are on your own. There is no cell service and if you get stuck you are looking at a long walk back to the highway. For most vehicles that is now the end of travel, increasing the length of the hike to over 3 miles.
