To answer your question in the best possible way. The remove of a flight data boom depends largely on it is temporary or permanant. If, in the case of the B-21 at Edwards, it's permanent, then it would be quite complicated, as there are most likely structural reinforcements to prevent it from vibrating too much during flight, and above all there are electrical connections inside the airframe. As Notelling rightly said, it's very invasive. It can take a whole day or even longer to remove.
