Robert Van Compernolle holds a special place in the annals of the US military during the Cold War because he was the father of the name Area 51 for the military facility near Groom Lake. When tracking expenses for new construction facilities at Watertown in Nevada, he referred to this effort as Project 51, and in time the location of this new construction at Watertown would be renamed Area 51.

Are there any additional details regarding the later life of Robert Van Compernolle after he retired from his post as REECo accountant? For instance, I'm curious as to what years he served as REECo accountant.
