It seems unlikely that anything secret would be flown over Plant 42, even at night. The airfield is adjacent to densely populated areas, where there would be lots of witnesses. I'm not saying they didn't see something; only that it probably wasn't something all that spooky. If this event lasted nearly 10 minutes, surely someone has pictures or video. Some years ago, a flight of a classified aircraft into Palmdale was reportedly either cancelled or diverted to a different airfield just on the strength of a rumor that Bill Sweetman might be in the area. (If that sounds pretty thin, consider that Sweetman was not even working as an aviation journalist at that time; he was employed by Northrop Grumman.)
