Northrop Grumman's preoccupation with development and testing of the B-21 Raider and probably maintenance of the "RQ-180" stealth reconnaissance UAV fleet shows that Northrop Grumman made a fiscally wise decision to quit the NGAD competition.

If the Loyal Wingmen are adapted for use as air-to-air platforms operating with the B-21, they could function as long-range escort fighters defending B-21s from interception by J-10s, J-20s, or FC-31s and also shooting down H-6Ks should the US retaliate against China in the event of a Chinese attack on airbases in Guam or the military base in Tinian (which is currently in the process of reactivation) with anti-ship missiles or ballistic missiles.
