The head of the USAF's Air Combat Command just poured cold water on any possible scenario whereby the NGAD program is canceled by saying that the Air Force still plans to choose a contractor to build the production NGAD.

The ACC probably had a gut feeling that even if Boeing or Lockheed Martin is declared the winner of the NGAD competition, it could, at best, acquire just 150-170 NGAD fighters.
