None of what's been written about Schultz's crash goes into much detail about why the squadron was deactivated in response. That just seems like an oddly counterintuitive move at a time when FME is clearly more important than it has been since arguably Vietnam. A dramatic expansion of the units responsible for it, like a whole new group under Det. 3 instead of one squadron, would seem prudent, although I'm not reaching for a confirmation or denial of that one way or another. With all the bad guy toys flooding into Ukraine, if a handful haven't yet found their way to Nevada I'd ask why not.

As for a specific and unique SOF presence at TTR, I have strong suspicions, but probably best to leave that one alone.
