You came to the right place. Short answer: Your truck will be more than adequate for the things you plan on doing. GL Rd gate and Rachel gate are suitable even for most passenger cars. Some of the secondary roads, such as the Bald Mtn gates road or the road to Brainwash Butte, may or may not require moderately high clearance. Again, your truck will be fine. If you plan on hiking Tikaboo you may need 4WD because there are some sandy spots in the road. Or put some weight in the bed of your pickup for better traction. Coast through the sandy spots, don't stop. Two spares and a tire repair kit are an excellent idea. Don't forget to bring a small compressor that plugs into the 12V outlet of your truck. Older tires, especially in dry climate, tend to get brittle and puncture easier on rocky roads. Easy fix with a tire plug and a small compressor. With 4-ply tires you will want to avoid cacti. If you need to turn on a narrow road, get out and scan the ground. I am sure you already found our FAQ section with lots of useful info. Sounds like you will be better prepared than most visitors to the area. Be safe and enjoy your visit.
