Back in the 1970s the F-15 was flown against Soviet types such as the MiG-21 at Groom Lake to evaluate air combat maneuvers. The F-15's powerful radar was used in aerial evaluations of HAVE BLUE's stealth characteristics and probably that of the F-117A, as well, once it began flying in the early 1980s.
