Smythers, was 'The Tooth' a lifting body design? I just stumbled into those designs again today and it got me thinking if those were the beginning of 'The Tooth' family. I believe you mentioning that it 'could cruise at mach x and had a rocket engine for a mach 6(?) sprint' which sounds pretty similar to the L-301 (X-24C) which (in 1977) would have had a cruise of mach 6 and a sprint of mach 8 at above 90k ft. I read on wikipedia (I know) that it was cancelled due to "duplicate black programs". Anyone know if this was brought into the black world or was it cancelled because 'The Tooth' had high altitudes and high speeds in the bag?

(Sorry for double post)
