Looking from a perspective:
This year, in November, is 70 years since the Mach 2 barrier was broke.
In 2026 there will be 70 years since Mach 3 barrier broke.

Now if we are going to celebrate anything on this matter my bet is that it would be this year or in 2026 if we are talking about real high speed flight.
