I guess it has something to do with shape of said trumpet-like intakes. They may be positioned on different agles and planes/surface may directs air from each side to make it able to ve mixed inside to eventually reduce RCS in the end. Then, air resistance, density and weather conditions may have nothing to change it no matter of a temperature and conditions.

Similar annomaly may be observed with sound of a plane during different weather conditions where at one time you hear engine note which has more bass similary and the other time you hear the same engine type sound but smoother. The technology would reduce it all at once, at that point.

Just my few personal cents.
