That is an interesting point of view. Yes, the SR-72 has been in the works for years, and is the follow on to the SR-71. With Hypersonic being all the rage right now; speed is essentially the new stealth, I would hope someone somewhere would develop a “hypersonic family of systems”. I don’t think we can say with 100% absolute certainty we do known everything planned now and in the future. However, yes, the SR-72 was never intended to be part of this. Also thought I believe hypersonic aircraft, weapons, and platforms shouldn’t be ignored entirely if we are trying to achieve “Air Dominance” The Bothan Spy
