No mention of a helicopter test site, but, according to the Wikimapia notes, there was a landing pad.

It's weird; I live in Beaumont, but haven't heard of a preserve being established in Potrero Canyon. There's one to the east of the Lockheed location; I thought the test area was pretty much never going to be used due to the toxicity of the ground from the jet fuel used in testing.
