Thank you, Peter for explaining the origin of the Aurora code name.
As for the evidence for a very fast plane (by whatever name): that's why I said "circumstantial". I don't think they can be all completely dismissed.
And someone here claims that this thing existed and even has a follow-on that is flying today... ;-)

I've been reading about this mystery for almost half of my life and I'd like to see it solved before I shed this mortal coil - which hopefully won't happen any time soon.
