First off, not all European military bases are hidden on Google Earth, just a selection of sites that governments have advised Google are sensitive. Secondly, several sensitive US sites, such as the the Indian River Nuclear Power Plant in New York, US Naval Observatory (US VPOTUS' residence) and the White House in Washington, DC, were once censored, but are no longer. On the gripping hand, several sensitive overseas bases are censored and virtually all domestic bases have been censored from Street View for the last few years (Google and DOD have cited safety concerns from domestic terrorists).

As for why domestic US military bases are generally not censored in Google Earth, I suspect that this just comes down to the fact that there is no practical reason to do so. Most other countries lack the global force projection to directly attack the US on its own soil and all the ones that do have it are either US allies or else they are major nuclear powers and so they are rightly afraid to directly attack another major nuclear power.

Just my personal analysis.
