I did the Red Flag in 1997 when the IAF first appeared with their Strike Eagles. 3 brand new birds, 6 hours flight time each with software still being loaded on the ramp. Their involvement and responsibilities grew throughout the two weeks until the final day they lined up alongside the standard 8 ship F-15C Eagle armada leading the strike package into the play area. Red air was dead in minutes...
