You are hinting towards injecting the spoofed signal into the data, rather than spoofing radio signals or video. That is a fairly new technique and the more combat systems rely on technology the more they are susceptible to this. There was some discussion about this a while back here in the forum related to a remote site west of Groom where an enemy system may have been evaluated for vulnerability to spoofing by injecting false data. If I remember correctly the consensus was that the tests were rather successful.
